2009 Maryland-Delaware Encampment Underway

—The 2009 Maryland-Delaware Encampment is off to a great start. The annual boot-camp like training event at Camp Fretterd teaches new Civil Air Patrol cadets a variety of skills including followership, leadership, self-discipline and teamwork.

—Maryland Wing's Drug Demand Reduction program joined with Virginia and Middle East Region during the Team America Rocketry Challenge held in The Plains, Va. During the event, special guest Michael B. Donley, Secretary of the Air Force, stopped by for a visit and experienced the effects of drugs by using the Fatal Vision Goggles.

Wicomico represents CAP at national rocket competition

—For the third consecutive year the Civil Air Patrol’s Wicomico Composite Squadron-Maryland Wing Cadet Rocketry Team was the only CAP finalist among the 100 teams to qualify for the Team America Rocketry Challenge competition.
